Role Summary:
The Plumbing Design Engineer will oversee all plumbing-related aspects of various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop conceptual plumbing models based on verbal instructions or preliminary sketches from engineers or design teams.
  • Integrate standard notes and details into construction documentation.
  • Manage and incorporate electronic revisions from the Mechanical Engineer while adhering to established workflows.
  • Take full responsibility for the plumbing scope, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project management, construction, and engineering teams in a cross-functional environment to ensure design accuracy and fulfillment of contract obligations.
  • Engage in all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and the creation of construction documents.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes and standards during project design development.
  • Generate plumbing engineering drawings, including essential notes and details.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the company's Quality Control and Project Management protocols.
  • Foster a positive work environment to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, with potential exposure to challenging conditions such as dust, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures for brief periods. Compliance with safety standards and the use of personal protective equipment in designated areas is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here represent those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Regular activities include walking, standing, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing, and communicating effectively. The ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. consistently is required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
  • Professional Engineer License is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in plumbing design is required.
  • Proficiency in Revit is mandatory.
  • Experience with SCRUM and Lean Design and Construction methodologies is advantageous.
  • Strong familiarity with engineering handbooks and manuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, team collaboration, organization, and problem-solving abilities are crucial.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required; a valid passport or the ability to obtain one is necessary.
  • Effective time management and interpersonal skills are essential.
