Penske Road Assist Technician

Join our team of skilled technicians at Penske, where we're dedicated to providing top-notch service to our customers. As a Road Assist Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing maintenance issues on the side of the road, ensuring our customers' vehicles are back on the road quickly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to road assist calls and repair units in a timely manner, identifying and documenting parts requiring replacement and warrantable repairs.
  • Perform diagnostics and non-road assist call repairs as needed, utilizing your expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Restock the rapid assist vehicle with tools, parts, tires, and other necessary supplies to ensure effective road assistance.
  • Perform maintenance or repairs to the road assist vehicle as required, ensuring it remains in top condition.
  • Assist with designated in-shop repairs as directed by your supervisor, contributing to the team's success.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Vocational/Technical or certification is preferred.
  • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools is required.
  • A current CDL license with air brake certification is required.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems are preferred.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions is required.
Physical Demands:
  • The associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
  • The associate must be able to use their hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls.
  • The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
  • The associate must be able to safely work in all weather conditions.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
