Busser Job Description

At the Jalapeno Tree Mexican Restaurant, we're passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Busser, you'll play a vital role in supporting our servers and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Table Setting and Clearing: Set and reset tables in accordance with our restaurant standards, ensuring a clean and inviting atmosphere for our guests.
  • Dishroom Duties: Clear used dishes, utensils, and glassware from tables and transport them to the kitchen, maintaining a clean and efficient workflow.
  • Dining Area Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed, to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for our guests.
  • Supply Replenishment: Replenish supplies and assist with stocking items in the service area, ensuring that our team has the necessary resources to provide excellent service.
  • Chemical Safety: Read and comprehend labels on chemicals and material safety data sheets (MSDS), taking necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Opening and Closing Duties: Assist with opening and closing duties, including trash disposal and organizing dining supplies, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications:
    • Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years of age.
    • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Physical Abilities: Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move at a rapid pace, bend, twist, and lift products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Temperature Exposure: Frequent exposure to varying temperatures (cooler/freezer and kitchen area).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience working in a restaurant preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
