Respiratory Care Services Supervisor

Nuvance Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Services Supervisor to oversee the daily technical operation of the Respiratory Care Services Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the work of department staff, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage, and maintaining high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and coordinate clinical assignments, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.
- Manage personnel, including interviewing, selecting, and training staff, as well as conducting performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor and improve department protocols, including smoking cessation, medication conversions, and weaning.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and training of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of departmental activities and patient care.
- Support and oversee the Blood Gas Laboratory in the absence of the clinical manager and special procedures lead.
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the span of control, resolving problems as necessary, and ensuring efficient, compliant, safe, and high-quality patient care.
- Manage departmental equipment and supplies, ensuring quality, appropriateness, and efficiency of respiratory care services while remaining budget-conscious.
- Collaborate with the Department Director and Clinical Manager to ensure quality and adherence to all regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission, CAP, and DOH.
- Optimize workflows within the span of control to continually improve quality and efficiency.
- Comply with all Health Quest and affiliate policies and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- A.S. degree from an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care.
- Three years of Respiratory Therapist experience in ICU/NICU.
- PREFER: Two years of management experience.
- PREFER: B.S. Respiratory Care.
This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 3pm-11:30pm, with occasional evening and weekend shifts as needed.
