Position Overview

  • Assistant Manager - In the absence of the Account Manager, the Assistant Manager takes on the responsibility of overseeing and managing the dining services team. This role involves providing leadership, support, and guidance to ensure compliance with food quality standards, inventory management, food safety protocols, and customer service expectations in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Reporting - Assist the Account Manager in maintaining comprehensive records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment for reporting to HCSG and facility management.
  • Training - Aid in training and quality control to meet HCSG standards, including regular kitchen assessments to ensure work quality.
  • Communication - Effectively relay directives from client managers and administrators to HCSG staff.
  • Safety - Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols, including the proper use of cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Punctuality - Maintain consistent attendance and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Customer Experience - Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Resident Experience - Foster positive interactions with residents and facility guests.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks.
  • After completing training, utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Specialized training in food service management and nutrition is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in food production/service and personnel supervision is desirable.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting are necessary.
  • Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required based on State/County regulations.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must reside within the service area.
