Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team at UNFI. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the prompt and efficient maintenance of our material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations for repair or replacement of poorly functioning equipment
  • Prioritize repair schedules to ensure uninterrupted production
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide improvements as needed
  • Manage inventory of parts and tools
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes
  • Replace broken or defective parts and order replacement parts as needed
  • Modify and test equipment to improve uptime and reliability
  • Update and review daily maintenance logs
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of technical maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment
  • Machining and fabrication experience a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Lift up to 75 pounds
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work with hands and arms overhead and in high places
  • Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance required
