Position Overview

The role emphasizes patient access as the initial phase of the revenue cycle for Baptist Medical Group clinics, concentrating on all facets of registration to minimize errors, standardize processes, and enhance front desk efficiency. This individual will engage directly with clinic and Central Business Office personnel, the Baptist Medical Group management team, the Epic Business Operations Center team, and various staff members across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and coordinates registration assistance for clinical personnel and management.
  • Offers guidance and development for Baptist One Care and Baptist Medical Group staff regarding best practices in appointment scheduling, registration, and front desk operations.
  • Maintains a technical proficiency to perform system testing analysis on Baptist One Care and suggests enhancements in appointment scheduling, registration, and front desk functions.
  • Conducts training for new hires in BMG registration and scheduling within the Baptist One Care framework.
  • Undertakes additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Preferred: An associate degree or equivalent in a healthcare or business-related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Preferred: Over two years of experience in a physician practice setting, with a comprehensive understanding of governmental and commercial payers, as well as in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle and practice management systems.

Minimum: At least one year of experience in a physician practice, with a solid understanding of governmental and commercial payers, and familiarity with revenue cycle and practice management systems.

Special Skills:

Minimum: Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheet applications, internet navigation, order processing, practice management, scheduling, patient registration, and charge entry. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with providers and staff to foster a team-oriented environment. Proven success in delivering presentations and training to staff and providers.

Training:

Preferred: Proficiency in EPIC practice management software.
