Position Overview
The role of the Registration Specialist is pivotal in ensuring seamless patient access at the Baptist Memorial Health Care clinics. This position is integral to the revenue cycle, emphasizing all facets of patient registration. The primary objective is to minimize errors, standardize processes, and enhance productivity at the front desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate registration assistance for clinical personnel and management.
- Offer guidance and training to Baptist One Care and Baptist Medical Group staff on optimal practices for appointment scheduling, registration, and front desk operations.
- Utilize technical skills to perform system testing and analysis for Baptist One Care, providing insights for enhancements in scheduling, registration, and front desk functions.
- Conduct training sessions for new hires in BMG registration and scheduling.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: An Associate's degree or equivalent in a healthcare or business-related field is preferred, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a physician practice is required, with a preference for two years. A thorough understanding of governmental and commercial payers, along with in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle and practice management systems, is essential.
Special Skills: Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, internet navigation, order processing, practice management, scheduling, patient registration, and charge entry is necessary. The ability to collaborate effectively with providers and staff to foster a team-oriented environment is crucial. A proven history of delivering presentations and training staff and providers is also important.
Preferred Training: Familiarity with EPIC practice management systems is advantageous.
