Job SummaryThe Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for maintaining and caring for all surgical instrumentation, as well as setting up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and clean surgical instruments and equipment
- Prepare and sterilize instruments for surgery cases
- Set up and organize operating room instrument trays
- Operate and maintain sterilizers, including steam and gravity sterilizers
- Prepare reports and keep records of instrument maintenance and sterilization
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and physicians
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Computer skills required
- CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
- 6 months of experience in a related field preferred
- 2-3 years of experience as an Instrument Room Technician
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
