Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at HexaQuEST Health, Inc. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining current inventory of supplies and sterile instrumentation, distributing instrumentation and supplies, assembling case carts, facilitating departmental flow, and ensuring decontamination, functionality, and overall condition of instrumentation in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and AAMI standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains current inventory of supplies and sterile instrumentation, including stocking and replenishing items, ordering and putting stock away daily, and participating in regular review of sterile stock items to ensure integrity of packaging.
  • Distributes instrumentation and supplies as requested, places returned instrumentation and supplies back onto shelves in Sterile Processing, disperses instrumentation onto shelves when all sterilization parameters have been met, and handles with care for instrumentation and supplies to prevent breakage and damage.
  • Assembles case carts by placing all needed supplies on/in case carts and placing all needed instrumentation in/on case carts.
  • Facilitates departmental flow by emptying instrumentation from washer/disinfectors onto holding rack, offloading instrument containers from washer to place onto holding rack, and maintaining records for equipment to ensure proper operation, sterility of instruments and supplies in accordance with regulatory recommendations.
  • Ensures decontamination, functionality, and overall condition of instrumentation in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and AAMI standards, including utilizing instrument tracking software for proper sorting and stringing of instruments and equipment, assembling and testing instrumentation to ensure proper functioning prior to sterilization, providing appropriate sterilization indicators within correct instrumentation packaging, and sorting and packaging instrumentation and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year supply chain experience preferred.
  • One year experience in hospital or related healthcare setting preferred.

Special Skills & Requirements:

  • Basic working knowledge of computers required.
