Position Overview

The Wellness Associate is accountable to the Wellness Director and Wellness Manager, delivering personalized services and care according to each Resident's unique Service Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility support.
  • Monitor and report any changes in Residents' physical and mental health to the Wellness Director promptly.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies and assist with procurement as needed.
  • Coordinate shift coverage for unexpected absences.
  • Support the Wellness Director with assignment management.
  • Help orient and onboard new Wellness Associates.
  • Respond to Resident emergencies, providing first aid and arranging necessary medical follow-up.
  • Assist Residents in maintaining clean and organized living spaces.
  • Promptly address calls for assistance and attend to Resident needs.
  • Support Residents with laundry and clothing needs as directed.
  • Facilitate meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
  • Engage in activity programs as designated.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with policy.
  • Participate in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all emergency protocols.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
  • Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in Residents' health.
Qualifications:
  • Current State Nurse's Aide registration is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience and a passion for working with seniors are essential.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Residents, their families, peers, and staff.
  • In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of bending and reaching.
  • Able to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as necessary.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods.
  • May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
Additional Information:
  • Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.
  • Flexibility to work on various shifts as needed.
  • Potential for extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
  • Exposure to infectious waste and diseases may occur.
  • Background checks and drug tests may be conducted.
