Position Summary

The Field Project Manager for Critical Power is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive management and execution of projects on behalf of clients throughout the project lifecycle. This role serves as the primary liaison for clients regarding project matters. The Project Manager is responsible for supporting sales, operations, and service teams throughout the project to ensure a smooth transition from quotation to commissioning and client acceptance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish clear and attainable cost, quality, and schedule objectives, ensuring successful project completion. Additionally, the Project Manager will provide technical guidance to sales and service teams and must possess the capability to self-manage and lead a team on awarded projects related to electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update project schedules for assigned projects
  • Facilitate communication and distribute documentation between Concentric and its clients
  • Conduct site assessments for sales quoting and pre/post job evaluations
  • Review client specifications and bid documents, issuing change orders as necessary
  • Exhibit expertise in contingency planning
  • Assist with order entry and provide support to the customer service team
  • Prepare, distribute, and ensure adherence to project safety plans, aligning with company, client, and regulatory standards
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain a list of project action items
  • Ensure accurate as-built documentation and punch lists are maintained
  • Monitor, report, and control project costs within the estimated project margin
  • Manage gross profit and other key performance indicators on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Report, forecast, and present project financial activities to Concentric management
  • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize material and service margins
  • Provide market insights to the Critical Power management team to reinforce Concentric's position as an industry leader
  • Effectively manage business expenses in accordance with company guidelines

Performance Metrics

  • Project revenue, expenses, and gross profit compared to budget
  • Schedule adherence against forecasts/plans
  • Safety performance ratings
  • Accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Scope of Work (SOW)

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in field service, project management, or proposal generation related to critical power distribution systems, along with a high school diploma
  • Thorough understanding of Telcordia standards, particularly GR1275 and GR513
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in DC Power within the telecommunications sector, either in fieldwork or engineering
  • Exceptional communication and motivational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Capability to organize personal workload and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and needs
  • Proficient in articulating ideas clearly to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong workplace relationships focused on customer satisfaction
