Leadership Opportunity at Los Alamos Medical Center
We are seeking a skilled and experienced RN House Supervisor to join our team at Los Alamos Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, skills, census, patient acuity, and work/patient flow.
- Provide direct care as needed and float between staff to assist with problem-solving.
- May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and related services, and manage through established channels.
- Perform role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
- Ensure staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
- Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- New hires must have current BLS and ACLS upon hire. Staff are required to obtain PALS/ENPC within six (6) months from hire.
- Current NM RN licensure or appropriate RN Compact licensure to start.
