Leadership Opportunity at Los Alamos Medical Center

We are seeking a skilled and experienced RN House Supervisor to join our team at Los Alamos Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, skills, census, patient acuity, and work/patient flow.
  • Provide direct care as needed and float between staff to assist with problem-solving.
  • May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
  • Respond to complaints about patient care and related services, and manage through established channels.
  • Perform role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
  • Ensure staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • New hires must have current BLS and ACLS upon hire. Staff are required to obtain PALS/ENPC within six (6) months from hire.
  • Current NM RN licensure or appropriate RN Compact licensure to start.
