Role Overview

The Senior MW/MT/MD Sensor Modeling and Simulation Engineer will play a crucial role in providing analytical support, software development, systems engineering, and modeling and simulation assistance for government clients within the missile warning, tracking, and defense mission areas. This position involves direct interaction with government representatives and collaboration with various program office personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical expertise and leadership in the modeling and performance assessment of MW/MT/MD sensors and their overarching system architectures.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses utilizing a range of modeling, simulation, and analytical tools, both proprietary and commercially available.
  • Evaluate electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), radar, and passive radio frequency sensor concepts and algorithms.
  • Model and analyze Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) signal processing algorithms, assessing both on-board and ground-based performance.
  • Assess and model ballistic and non-ballistic missile threats, including advanced targets, and analyze detection and tracking behaviors.
  • Perform sensor constellation performance evaluations and verify contractor performance analyses.
  • Conduct Probability of Warning analyses for various sensor configurations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A degree in mathematics, electrical or aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering analysis of EO/IR surveillance systems, including system evaluation and simulation.
  • Experience in developing computer tools, simulations, and algorithms to support interdisciplinary analyses.
  • A background in statistics, estimation, controls, or signal processing, with experience in EO/IR missile detection and tracking algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, C++, Python, C, or Java.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with high-level personnel.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates may also have:

  • An advanced technical degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in developing and analyzing mission processing algorithms.
  • Familiarity with EO/IR system design trade studies and technology insertion.
  • A current and active TS/SCI clearance.
