Principal or Sr Principal EW Radar and Modeling Simulation Engineer
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Principal or Sr Principal EW Radar and Modeling Simulation Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Redondo Beach Systems Engineering Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-fidelity system performance models, threat models, and command & control models. Your expertise in radar systems, electronic warfare, and modeling and simulation will be crucial in driving the success of our programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop mathematical algorithms for mode/sensor implementation
- Develop software to model behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations of sensors and other platforms
- Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization
- Technical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, flight test requirements verification, and sustainment
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university
- 5 years of experience or 3 years of experience and Master's Degree or 0 years of experience and PhD for Principal Systems Engineer (level 3)
- 8 years of experience or 6 years of experience and Master's Degree or 3 years of experience and PhD for Senior Principal Systems Engineer (level 4)
- Ability to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems
- Ability to work with a team in a rapid prototyping environment
- Demonstrated experience with Air-to-Air and/or Air-to-Ground modes
- Demonstrated mathematical problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication, presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive technique
- Customer focus and collaboration skills
- Strong desire to learn, take initiative and contribute within a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated team leadership experience
- An understanding of the physical limitations to implementing complex algorithms in real hardware
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $107,300 - $160,900, as well as a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
