Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Imaging Specialist Reg-Computed Tomography-Interventional to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures on patients of all ages, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality diagnostic procedures, general as well as surgical, portable, and tomography.
  • Be proficient in CT and provide and use radiation protection devices and techniques in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Display working knowledge of job requirements and maintain radiographic quality.
  • Position patients and equipment accurately and manipulate technique to ensure optimal results.
  • Correctly document required information in the computerized information system (RIS) and complete exams in a timely fashion.
  • Assist radiologists and/or physicians in specific procedures, patient care, and other duties as required.
  • Apply knowledge of operation and use of diagnostic x-ray machines, processors, and other required equipment and maintain safety.
  • Rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the department.
  • Direct patient flow to specific rooms and times, ensuring patients are not delayed unnecessarily.
  • Maintain communications with Nursing Services concerning patient condition and radiographic procedural changes.
  • Transport patients when necessary and display a team attitude in assisting transportation staff.
  • Clean departmental equipment and instruments, ensuring they are clean, orderly, and ready for use.
Requirements
  • Holds Permit-to-Practice radiology in the state of Iowa.
  • Certified and holds current registration with the A.R.R.T. as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certified and holds current registration with the A.R.R.T. in CT.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • 1-2 years of Radiology experience in the hospital environment preferred.
