The Equipment Repair Specialist (R) is classified as a "Rotational" role, typically adhering to a designated rotating schedule, often structured as 14 days of work followed by 7 days off. The individual will be required to travel to and stay at the assigned work site for the duration of the 14-day assignment. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality repair services on equipment, ensuring that customer needs are met promptly and effectively, thereby maximizing the value of the services provided.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Commission, service, and repair power generation machinery used in oilfield operations.
  • Commission, service, and repair compressed air systems utilized in oilfield settings.
  • Execute assigned tasks in accordance with Caterpillar Equipment Repair Labor Guidelines (ERLG), maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete necessary documentation and access databases to fulfill job requirements (work orders, parts orders, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW).
  • Comply with contamination control and HAZMAT regulations.
  • Disassemble and reassemble components, inspect assemblies, and perform maintenance with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and apply Cat reusability standards.
  • Timely submission of parts and core returns with appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct warranty downloads of ECM.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • In-depth knowledge of CAT product lines, including natural gas engines and mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of gas/diesel engines and EPG systems, along with troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, air tools, precision measuring instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to provide accurate service quotes.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • (Preferred) Associate's degree or certification in diesel technology or a related mechanical field.
  • Clean driving record and ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment for field assignments.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate field vehicles.
  • Successful completion of Work Steps assessment.
  • Certification required prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift.
