Job Title: Field Service Technician

ChampionX is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for executing the commissioning and decommissioning of multiplex pump skids and components at oil and gas well sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the commissioning and decommissioning of multiplex pump skids and components at oil and gas well sites.
  • Perform repairs and troubleshoot multiplex pumps, electric motors, and their variable speed drives (VSD), safety switches, flow meters, valves, and lubrication and sump pumps.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and service Jet Lift systems used for artificial lift in the oil and gas industry.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment at regular intervals.
  • Write service tickets in a timely and accurate manner for customers to review and invoices generated.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for the facility, as required by the business.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area and company truck.
  • Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop good working relationships with customers through professional communication.
  • Respond to customer calls and assist with technical questions.
  • Contribute to the department's continuous improvement culture.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
  • Acceptable driving record through Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Drug and alcohol test.
  • Criminal background check.
  • Education and certification check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with Jet Lift systems.
  • Basic understanding of downhole pumps and completions.
  • Working knowledge of multi-cylinder engines.
  • Automation experience.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is required to occasionally walk in customer field locations, which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist, and push.
  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
  • Work normally is executed at customer field locations in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.
