Family Support Specialist

Family & Children's Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Provider to join our team. As a Family Support Provider, you will play a vital role in providing targeted support services to families in need, helping to prevent out-of-home placements and promote a system of care that is child-centered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home and community-based support services to families, incorporating the entire family and cultural heritage in the utilization of best practices.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, and clinical and administrative staff to ensure the highest quality of services is delivered.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with families, understanding their unique needs and circumstances.
- Assist families in accessing community resources and services, promoting self-sufficiency and empowerment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to enhance client recovery and provide a coordinated effort to address complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Have lived experience as a primary caregiver of a child or youth who has received services for one of the following: serious emotional disturbance; substance use disorder, or co-occurring substance use and mental health; or a caregiver with a child welfare/CPS involvement.
- Specialized training and/or certification in mental health services or a related field.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines with efficiency and consistency.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish working relationships with clinical, administrative, and support staff.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
