Position Overview
We are on the lookout for a knowledgeable nursery professional to spearhead our nursery team in East Haven. Our commitment is to create an exceptional workplace and build a high-performing team dedicated to outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Branch Manager in the sales and operational planning processes, including statistical demand forecasting and the integration of supply and demand strategies.
- Promote a culture of safety by leading by example and emphasizing safety protocols daily.
- Foster a robust safety culture through effective workplace organization, training, and policy execution.
- Implement inventory management principles, understand customer demographics, and drive sales.
- Create a positive and collaborative environment for employees, aligning with SiteOne's core values.
- Train and develop agronomic staff to enhance their knowledge of nursery products and customer requirements, supporting departmental sales objectives.
- Collaborate with branch leadership to adopt new technologies and methodologies that enhance business performance.
- Provide support to other branch departments and customers as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in the green industry with a solid understanding of live plant materials and nursery products is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service and management capabilities.
- Experience in sales and operational planning and forecasting.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgeting.
- A willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and operational methods.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
