Key Responsibilities- Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure proper storage and organization.
- Orient and direct MA students with supervision and oversight by physician, PA or NP.
- Supervise MA I with oversight by physician, PA or NP.
- May be assigned as HIPAA Compliance officer for the work unit with oversight by the Health Services Director.
- Perform phlebotomy, CLIA-Waived laboratory testing, and obtain cultures as ordered by a medical professional.
- Review, interpret, and explain policies and procedures to students, parents, and other staff.
- Use proper judgment and initiative in handling issues from students, parents, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Assist in developing policies and procedures to improve business processes.
- Train staff and students on specialized programs and/or work procedures.
- Troubleshoot technological problems and coordinate with technical support services.
- Research, sort, and summarize routine and non-routine data and information, integrating information from multiple data sources and applying basic problem-solving skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- Certification as Medical Assistant or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
- Preferred qualifications include two years of medical assistant experience and certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
