About This Role

This RN position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm, supporting a new GI Surgical Oncology provider. You will be responsible for assisting with in-office procedures, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and participating in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care planning. Your responsibilities will include care coordination, patient education, and phone/mychart triage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies and ensure a safe and secure environment to meet patient needs.
  • Facilitate patient scheduling for all tests and visits, complete billing for nursing procedures, and prepare equipment for physician exams and medical procedures.
  • Prepare patients for physician exams, chaperone physician visits, administer medications as prescribed, take and record patient vital signs, and inspect equipment and facilities for proper functioning.
  • Obtain medical history from patients, document nursing assessments, and deliver nursing interventions consistent with the stated medical plan of care.
  • Triage patient phone inquiries according to physician and/or departmental protocols, document results, and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Participate in evaluating nursing needs, assess problems affecting patients, recommend policy changes, schedule appointments and tests, and facilitate patient-physician communication.
