Job Description

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is a key member of the Quality Department, responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met and implemented throughout the purchasing, inspection, and launching of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review quality plans, including First Article Inspection (FAI), Delta FAI, and Qualification reports.
  • Create and review Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents.
  • Act as a Quality Representative for customers, communicating product quality issues and providing solutions.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to identify opportunities for process and product improvements.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and understanding of drawings, data, measurement analysis, capability studies, and problem resolution (CAR/CAPA) to create work instructions.
  • Monitor and ensure control tests are completed, submitting required documentation.
  • Prepare and submit First Article Test (FAT) reports.
  • Occasionally responsible for submitting Change Notifications.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics, analyzing data for improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Quality role.
  • Experience in FAI/DFAI/PPAP creation and review processes.
  • IPC, J-STD, ISO, and AS9100/2 certifications preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools, preferred.
  • Experience using Quality tools and practices, preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, statistical, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, with expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
