Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our products at Country Fresh Dairy. This position involves a variety of responsibilities focused on the meticulous testing and quality control of our offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of all relevant equipment and perform quality assessments on associated items.
- Execute microbiological and chemical analyses of finished goods, raw materials, and other related components as necessary.
- Participate in monitoring product weight, antibiotic testing, and the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, alongside ensuring lab cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with various departments to address any issues that may hinder production efficiency.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
- Acquire and uphold State certification for antibiotic testing in line with company protocols.
- Commit to food safety and quality system standards by adhering to all relevant regulatory, customer, and SQF requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is filled out clearly and accurately, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Embrace a continuous improvement approach by identifying opportunities to enhance processes.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices to maintain high standards.
- Keep a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment in designated areas, safe chemical handling, and other safety measures.
- Be accountable for food safety and quality assurance in the assigned area.
- Report any food safety or quality concerns to management without delay.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Shift: 2nd Shift - 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Compensation: $30.03 per hour
Benefits: Available after 30 days, including 401K and PTO.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations using various units of measure.
- Previous experience in the food and beverage sector is advantageous; knowledge of biology is a plus.
- Capability to assess flavors in milk-based, sugar-based, and caffeine-based products.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for the majority of the shift, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to work in a wet environment and potential exposure to chemicals and allergens.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork skills and effective communication abilities.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must successfully pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug, background, and criminal checks.
