Position Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of complex engineering projects. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the full project lifecycle, from initial scoping studies to the execution of EPC and EPCM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver mechanical engineering solutions that align with project objectives, timelines, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports that detail design specifications and project requirements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of project scopes, costs, and schedules to ensure effective planning and execution.
  • Create mechanical work plans for integration into project-specific execution strategies.
  • Contribute significantly to multi-disciplinary engineering designs and feasibility assessments.
  • Oversee and evaluate Engineering Work Packages (EWP) to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Review and validate mechanical deliverables, including specifications, datasheets, and drawings.
  • Assist in formulating project-specific procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in the detailed design of mineral processing facilities.
  • A proven track record in an EPCM environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong client engagement skills.
  • A focused approach to deliverables and effective work planning.
  • A solid understanding of safety principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Prior experience with copper, gold, nickel, or base metals is highly desirable.
  • Experience in leading mechanical disciplines on engineering projects.
