Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative II to join our team at SSM Health. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with patients, participants, and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures and gather necessary demographic, insurance, and clinical information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather information from patients and enter it into the appropriate database, seeking resources to resolve issues related to procedure type, date, or location.
  • Schedule patient procedures efficiently, coordinating and communicating schedules to ensure timely and effective use of clinical resources.
  • Assist with insurance pre-certification/authorization coordination and provide counseling to patients, participants, or their representatives regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
  • Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration, identifying process improvement opportunities and participating in improvement plans.
  • Work on special projects as needed and may review the work of others.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
  • One year of experience in a related field
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
