Point of Care Testing Coordinator

The Point of Care Testing Coordinator is a key role in our laboratory team, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our point of care testing program. This position ensures the accuracy of test results and addresses patient concerns and needs with professionalism and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of test systems and ensure training of testing personnel as needed.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with CLIA, Joint Commission, and CAP standards in collaboration with the quality management department and laboratory leaders.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and perform periodic audits of quality control records.
- Coordinate validation and verification testing on all new point of care equipment and assist key point of care personnel with troubleshooting instruments and other testing issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment or Point of Care Coordinator role.
- One of the following certifications: ASCP - Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), NCA - Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or AMT - Medical Technologist (MT).
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.
