Automation Controls Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY
At Dominion Technologies Group, Inc., our Controls Engineering Services division is committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions for diverse automotive and industrial applications. As a vital member of our Controls Engineering team, you will collaborate with clients and fellow engineers to design, construct, program, and integrate tailored automated systems and solutions across various product lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop software solutions, including PLC programming, HMI applications, drive control systems, and communication networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P).
- Utilize your expertise in automation and industry standards to create and design machine control systems while producing necessary deliverables for clients.
Contribute to operational goals by providing insights and recommendations for strategic planning and reviews. Maintain project status updates and complete action plans as required.
Adhere to the Quality Management System and engage in continuous improvement initiatives. Enhance personal and team knowledge through participation in educational opportunities and by supporting colleagues.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Proficient in developing PLC programs and HMI applications that align with project specifications and client requirements.
Demonstrated experience with industry standards and relevant work history.
Able to work independently with clients or collaboratively within a project team, contributing to meetings, addressing project issues, and providing status updates.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Familiarity with industry standards, common practices, and client requirements, with recent experience in projects involving major automotive manufacturers.
Possession of relevant certifications and safety training.
Experience with plant systems and various automation technologies.
Knowledge of software tools such as RSLogix, Factory Talk View, and Siemens TIA Portal.
Experience with automation systems including General Assembly, BIW Systems, and End of Line Automation processes.
