POSITION OVERVIEW

At Dominion Technologies Group, Inc., our Controls Engineering Services division is committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions for a diverse range of automotive and industrial applications. As a vital member of our Controls Engineering team, you will collaborate closely with clients and fellow engineers to design, develop, program, and implement tailored automated systems and solutions across various product lines.

ROLE OF CONTROLS SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Advanced Controls Engineering team at Dominion is focused on ensuring timely and high-quality engineering outcomes. In this role, you will partner with Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing, and Documentation teams to design, develop, program, and integrate customized automated systems and solutions for multiple product lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop software solutions including PLC programming, HMI applications, drive control systems, and communication networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P).
  • Utilize your expertise in automation and industry standards to create and design machine controls, ensuring all customer deliverables are met.

Contribute to operational goals by providing insights and recommendations for strategic planning and reviews. Maintain project status updates and complete action plans as necessary.

Comply with the Quality System and engage in continuous improvement initiatives. Enhance personal and team knowledge through educational opportunities and by supporting colleagues.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in developing PLC programs and HMI applications that align with project specifications and customer needs.

Demonstrated experience with customer and industry standards, supported by relevant work history.

Able to engage directly with clients independently or as part of a project team, contributing to meetings, addressing project issues, and providing status updates.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements, particularly with experience in GM, Stellantis, or Ford projects.

Certifications and safety training from GM, including GCCH, GCCS, ePlan, MPS, ESWP.

Experience with plant systems such as SEP, GEP, MERS, RPM, FIS, PFCS, and Broadcast.

Proficient in RSLogix, PLC5, Factory Talk View, Siemens TIA Portal, Servos, and VFDs.

Experience with General Assembly, BIW Systems, Tire and Wheel Systems, Evac and Fill Equipment, Conveyors, and End of Line Automation systems and processes.
