Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Azure infrastructure engineer to help plan and deploy new and existing applications. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, building and maintaining our Azure infrastructure. Along with designing and deploying the infrastructure, you will maintain and monitor the new system as well as configuring connectivity with various other systems and data sources in the cloud environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical experience with communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the other members of the internal as well as external teams. The role will also engage in moderate application configuration work, ensuring success of software deployment and development within said software.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement highly available and performance driven infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
Monitor and maintain the health of the Azure environment
Manage and optimize Azure resources to ensure high availability and performance.
Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and integration.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure.
Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
Develop and maintain documentation for Azure infrastructure and processes.
Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning.
Implement and manage Azure networking components.
Ensure cost optimization of Azure resources.
Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging approved tools to ensure automated platform deployments
Design and develop connection strategies and tools for integration between applications in a cloud environment.
Focus on DevOps processes, maximizing repeatability and sustainability across deployments / solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
3+ years of experience with Azure cloud services.
Strong understanding of Azure architecture and services.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform etc.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
Knowledge of networking concepts and Azure networking components.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Azure Monitor etc.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Initiative to seek clarity and understanding (not wait for direction).
Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Experience with databases like SQL Server or SQL Azure
Nice to have:
Experience with Snowflake and Databricks
Prior experience with the installation and maintenance of ESRI's ArcGIS software
Relevant Azure certifications are a plus
