Job Summary
As a Transmission Engineer at Burns & McDonnell, you will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on various overhead high-voltage transmission line projects. You will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting transmission plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of commonly used transmission engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the transmission engineering services industry. They will be proficient in utilizing design software and tools, including Bentley Power Line system based programs (i.e., PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, PLS-LITE), SAG 10, L-PILE, or AUTO CAD.

Responsibilities
* Perform and lead transmission design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
* Prepare specifications for construction, hardware, and material for high-voltage overhead transmission lines.
* Prepare construction drawings and cost estimates for high and extra-high voltage overhead transmission lines.
* Compile calculations for required electrical clearances based on NESC, GO 95, or other applicable codes and resources.

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of transmission engineering experience, consulting preferred.
* Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and proficiency in utilizing design software and tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $210,000 annually, depending on qualifications and location. Eligible employees participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
