- Act as a technical resource for various operational functions.
- Follow detailed procedures to conduct routine maintenance on radio interface equipment.
- Engage in Service Assurance tasks for all radio network components, interpreting alarms to proactively address issues and minimize service interruptions.
- Facilitate Service Delivery by installing new cellular site equipment, from individual components to complete installations.
- Gain proficiency in using essential wireless tools and testing equipment.
- Manage inventory effectively, adhering to established procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with AC and DC power systems, including tower light controllers.
- Meet behavioral and administrative expectations associated with the role.
- Understand basic microwave principles.
Qualifications:
- Vocational skills and procedural knowledge typically acquired through a combination of education and relevant experience totaling up to 2 years post-high school or equivalent.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in challenging scenarios.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including potential assignments outside the local market for extended periods.
- Availability to work outside regular business hours, including shifts, maintenance windows, and weekends as necessary. On-call availability is required.
- Ability to identify colors associated with telecommunications cables and equipment indicators.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- A valid driver's license with the capability to drive long distances, including off-road conditions. A CDL may be necessary for certain vehicles.
- Capability to transport equipment, necessitating a vehicle with suitable carrying capacity.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and climb ladders and steep staircases.
- Comfortable working in diverse and challenging environments, including rooftops and vaults.
- Dexterity to connect and disconnect various electronic connectors.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with field operations, trouble ticket systems, and network databases.
- Previous experience with wireless networking systems is advantageous.
- Travel is a requirement; hotel expenses are not covered.
Training and Certifications:
The employer ensures that personnel possess the necessary qualifications and certifications to perform the required work before commencing. This includes OSHA10, RF Awareness, CPR/First Aid, and Ergonomics training, along with any required refresher courses.
The employer will cover up to 40 hours of training annually, including all associated costs.
Additional Information:
Personnel are responsible for accurately recording all hours worked and must adhere to the employer's timekeeping policies. Compensation for travel time and administrative tasks is also included as per the employer's guidelines.
