Located in Durham, North Carolina, Duke University Hospital is a leading healthcare facility recognized nationally for its excellence. It is the largest hospital within the Duke Health system, featuring 1048 patient beds and 65 operating rooms, along with extensive diagnostic and therapeutic resources, including a regional emergency center and specialized surgical facilities.

Position Highlights

This role offers a $10,000 commitment bonus and $3,000 in relocation assistance.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend shifts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate radiographic equipment to produce images of specific anatomical areas, ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols.
  • Communicate x-ray procedures clearly to patients.
  • Position patients appropriately for imaging, utilizing necessary support devices and protective gear.
  • Assist physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized imaging procedures.
  • Process images to ensure high quality and accuracy, matching them with the corresponding documentation for interpretation.
  • Manage radiographic procedure charges and modify orders as per established protocols.
  • Utilize the Image Archival System effectively.
  • Provide training and education to affiliated radiology technology programs.
  • Orient new technologists to departmental procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of an AMA accredited Radiology Technology program.

Experience:

Level I: ARRT certification must be obtained within one year of employment.

Level II: A minimum of two years of experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist is required.

Level III: At least four years of experience in the specialty modality for promotion consideration.

Certifications:

BLS certification and ARRT certification in radiography are mandatory, with ARRT certification required within 18 months of hire.
