Overview of Duke University Hospital
Located in Durham, North Carolina, Duke University Hospital is recognized as the top hospital in the state and consistently ranks among the best in the United States. With 1,048 patient beds and 65 operating rooms, our facility is equipped with comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic resources, including a regional emergency center and specialized surgical facilities.
Position Highlights
This role offers a $10,000 commitment bonus along with $3,000 in relocation assistance.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend shifts.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate radiographic equipment to capture images of specified anatomical areas, ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols.
- Communicate x-ray procedures clearly to patients.
- Position patients appropriately for imaging, utilizing necessary support devices and protective gear.
- Assist physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized radiographic procedures.
- Process images to ensure optimal quality and match them with the corresponding documentation for interpretation.
- Manage radiographic procedure charges and modify orders as per established protocols.
- Utilize the Image Archival System effectively.
- Provide training and education to affiliated radiology technology programs.
- Orient new technologists to the department.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Education
Completion of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
Experience
Level I: ARRT certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
Level II: Minimum of two years of experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist.
Level III: At least four years of experience in the specialty modality for promotion consideration.
Certifications
BLS certification and ARRT certification in radiography required, with ARRT certification to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
