Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee the client intake process, conduct adversary searches, draft screening memoranda and engagement letters, and initiate new case files.
- Draft, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence utilizing various software tools, adhering to specific guidelines. Ensure accuracy by proofreading for content, spelling, grammar, and punctuation before finalizing documents.
- Prepare necessary documents and fees for electronic submissions, ensuring compliance with instructions. Facilitate e-filing with federal and state courts and relevant agencies.
- Manage timekeeper schedules, including court deadlines, meetings, depositions, and other appointments as required.
- Assist with various projects, overflow tasks, and administrative duties to support attorneys and colleagues throughout the firm.
- Handle administrative responsibilities as needed, such as processing mail, preparing audit responses, completing expense reports, and reviewing billing statements.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to teamwork and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal practice assistant is essential.
- Experience in litigation is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Capable of following written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions and addressing problems with multiple variables in standardized situations.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively and professionally with clients and personnel at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly shift focus between tasks.
- Must handle confidential information with discretion.
Compensation and Benefits:
Frost Brown Todd offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401k/profit-sharing retirement plan.
The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors, including skill sets, experience, training, and organizational needs. For applicants based in California, the estimated hourly range is $35.00 – $45.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
