Role Overview
As a pivotal member of the Software Engineering team within NIBR's Informatics organization, you will play a crucial role in crafting next-generation software solutions. These tools will enhance the acquisition, storage, integration, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of diverse data types, including chemical, biological, clinical, and operational information.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cutting-edge software solutions to facilitate the drug discovery process throughout the design-make-test-analyze cycle.
- Contribute significantly to the creation of tools and technologies for large-scale data integration, processing, analysis, and visualization.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional product team to convert business requirements into functional and visually appealing products.
- Engage in the complete development lifecycle, from initial product conception and research to final production release.
- Adopt an action-oriented mindset, agile methodologies, and adhere to industry-standard software development practices.
- Provide technical leadership while fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Incorporate software development best practices into daily work and motivate peers to adopt these standards.
- Ensure compliance with global Information Security and Quality standards for all products and services.
- Where applicable, uphold Regulatory Compliance standards for GxP products and services.
Location and Compensation
This position is based at the Novartis Cambridge site. Relocation assistance may be available. The expected salary range for this role is between $124,000 and $186,000 annually, with total compensation potentially including bonuses, stock options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing commercial-grade cloud-based solutions at scale, utilizing various software development life cycles and product-driven approaches.
- Proven track record as a technical lead on complex products that integrate with other systems.
- Strong ability to enhance processes and methodologies across multiple products.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the capacity to influence within a matrixed environment.
- Extensive knowledge of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.) and software development environments.
- Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and containerization tools.
- Proficient in web service development and software code management tools.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for user experience.
- A degree in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
