Position Overview

The Automation Service Specialist will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Ranpak Automation equipment at diverse client sites. This role is crucial in ensuring maximum equipment uptime and customer satisfaction while supporting administrative functions within the Service and Parts department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with service work orders.
  • Provide support to the Ranpak Technical Support Hotline as needed.
  • Prioritize safety and adhere to specific customer protocols at all times.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate field service reports.
  • Submit field service reports and expense claims promptly.
  • Maintain open communication with customers and Ranpak staff regarding job progress.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with a variety of clients.
  • Keep tools and equipment, including service vehicles, in optimal condition.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace upon completion of tasks.
  • Contribute positively to a professional and profitable service organization.
Qualifications
  • Formal training in electrical or mechanical fields from a recognized institution, or a minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial automation maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to travel within North America on short notice, with expected travel of 50-70%.
  • Strong mechanical and electronic skills for diagnosing and resolving complex machinery issues.
  • Familiarity with PLCs from various manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Beckhoff).
  • Logical and solution-focused mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
  • Proficient in using computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate customer needs, including occasional weekends and off-hours.
