Adjunct Faculty in Geography and GIS

Position Overview:
We invite applications for the role of Adjunct Faculty in Geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This position is part of an ongoing recruitment effort for our adjunct instructor applicant pool, which is open for continuous consideration throughout the fiscal year.

Teaching assignments may occur at various locations, and these part-time faculty roles are based on departmental needs, without the accrual of tenure rights.

Teaching Responsibilities:
As an adjunct faculty member, you will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse student body, helping them achieve their academic objectives. Responsibilities include:
1. Creating an interactive learning environment that fosters instructor-student engagement.
2. Adapting teaching methods to accommodate the varied backgrounds and experiences of students.
3. Participating in curriculum development and program enhancement initiatives.
4. Engaging in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- A valid California Community College Instructor Credential in Geography/GIS.
- A Master's degree in Geography.
- A Bachelor's degree in Geography combined with a Master's degree in a related field such as Geology, History, Meteorology, or Oceanography.
- A Master's degree in an interdisciplinary area with upper division or graduate coursework in at least one other relevant discipline.

Additional Requirements:
1. Demonstrated commitment to integrating technology into the educational process.
2. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. Ability to reflect on and respond to assessments of student learning.

Compensation:
The starting salary for this position is competitive, reflecting the adjunct faculty salary schedule.
