Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty members to teach Chemistry courses. As a member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of our academic programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Chemistry courses to students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to promote student learning and success.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to improve student outcomes and academic programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Chemistry.
  • OR Master's degree in chemistry.
  • OR Any bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry AND master's degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry.
  • OR Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education AND official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units.
Working Conditions
  • Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.
  • Adjunct faculty positions are part-time and do not accrue rights to tenure.
Benefits
  • Starting salary rate: $88.30 per hour.
