About the Science Panel for the Congo BasinThe Science Panel for the Congo Basin is an independent scientific panel dedicated to synthesizing existing knowledge of the status of and threats to the Congo Basin and its ecosystems. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive assessment of the region's biodiversity and ecosystems, and to identify solutions to preserve their health.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an Intern to support the Science Panel for the Congo Basin in its mission to promote sustainable development and address the challenges facing the Congo Basin. The successful candidate will assist the Science Panel's Secretariat in a wide range of administrative and coordination tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Science Panel's Secretariat in administrative tasks, including financial management, event planning, and report preparation.
- Assist in the coordination of the Science Panel's activities, including meetings, webinars, and workshops.
- Provide research and analysis support to the Science Panel's members and staff.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including scientists, policymakers, and civil society organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Science Panel's Program Associate.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as project management, administration, or environmental science.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and international team environment.
- Proficiency in English and French is an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Office is required.

The successful candidate will be based in the SDSN Association's New York office, with the possibility of remote work. The contract will run from November 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, with a salary range of $1619 per hour, depending on qualifications.
