Job Summary

We are seeking a Tax Preparer Assistant to join our team in Columbia, Illinois. As a Tax Preparer Assistant, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our clients receive accurate and timely tax preparation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Service: Assist clients with tax preparation, including entering client and W-2 information into our tax program.
  • Interview and Review: Conduct tax interviews with clients, assemble tax returns, obtain required signatures, and review finished products with clients.
  • Bookkeeping and Compliance: Ensure all H&R Block clients receive superior service, and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills: Reading and math skills required to begin and finish tax returns, ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone, and previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
  • Additional Requirements: Additional state and local requirements may apply.
