Job Summary:

A Clinical Allergy Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the allergy center, administering allergy tests, educating patients on allergen immunotherapy, and providing patient-centered care. This role involves working directly under the supervision of a physician and performing clinical and administrative responsibilities in a medical provider's office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of allergens, the allergic response, and UAS clinical protocols.
  • Responsible for safe and effective immunotherapy processes, including quality allergy testing and formulation and preparation of allergy immunotherapy.
  • Ensures patient progress by following up with patients and ensuring timely pickup of immunotherapy.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork and verifies insurance eligibility for each patient.
  • Administers patient scheduling and handles billing documentation through EMR systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining clinic inventory levels and ensuring timely ordering and receipt of supplies.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with providers and medical office staff.
  • Escalates patient or other questions to the appropriate team member or provider in a timely manner.
  • Meets strategic goals and objectives of the clinic and company related to assigned productivity and revenue.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year of full-time equivalent work experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Nursing or other medical technician certification(s) as required by state or local regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure suitable results.
  • Computer experience required.
