General Manager Job Description

Wingstop is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our restaurant team. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, providing exceptional customer service, and proactively managing the front- and back-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, select, orient, train, assign, and schedule team members in partnership with the District Manager.
  • Work with the District Manager and Human Resources to manage performance, including coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members.
  • Communicate job expectations to the staff, plan, monitor, and review performance, plan and review compensation actions, and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the District Manager about operational and human resources issues.
  • Perform regular restaurant inspections to ensure the team and restaurant meet standards.
  • Track inventory and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Identify and resolve issues with food preparation and help the team handle customer service issues with grace and courtesy.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures.

  • Ability to measure performance, subjectively and objectively.
  • Cultivate an attractive culture within the restaurant.
  • Ability to handle numerous job duties essential to running a restaurant.
  • Competent in key areas of responsibility, including labor management, store operations, and customer care.
  • Superior leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Possesses a confident and professional demeanor, inspiring trust, modeling best practices, and cultivating morale and teamwork among team members.
  • Proactive problem-solver and decision-maker.
  • Must thoroughly understand the importance of good hygiene and food handling practices.
  • Flexible schedule required, including weekends and nights.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience.
Additional Information:
  • Restaurant experience is required.
  • Manager Food Handler Certification is required.
