About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Director to join our team at Five Star Senior Living. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility management, ensuring that our communities meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Management: Oversee the daily operations of our facilities, ensuring that all areas meet community standards and maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Schedule and monitor preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of facility equipment, and perform daily reviews and necessary follow-ups using the TELS (Total Equipment Life Support) system to address maintenance needs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, manage the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) book, and lead the safety/OSHA committee.
  • Team Leadership: Lead daily stand-ups for the Facilities team, participate in all community leader stand-ups, and coach, develop, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financials, including the review of vendor and supplies invoices and budget management.
  • Vendor Management: Select, manage, and monitor performance of contractors and vendors to ensure quality service delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Communication: Review and respond to communications in the Workday inbox promptly, and participate in resident council meetings to address facility-related concerns and gather feedback.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Must possess a minimum of two years of related maintenance experience, and formal training in carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, refurbishing, and cleaning is preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Ability to problem solve, plan, organize, communicate, and cooperate with others, strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team, and knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
