Production Helper Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Helper to join our team at Daifuku Automotive America Corporation in Reynoldsburg, OH.

Responsibilities:
  • Support production processes by maintaining a clean and organized work area, performing general building maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Receive, store, and issue tools and equipment to workers as needed, and assist with shipping and receiving by retrieving deliveries, unpacking, and storing incoming tools and equipment.
  • Transport materials to different locations within the facility using a forklift, and maintain shop floor cleanliness with an industrial floor scrubber.
  • Monitor and clean the recycle and trash area, and follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment when required, and maintain regular attendance with reliable transportation.
Qualifications:
  • Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred, and any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable.
  • Basic computer skills are a plus, and forklift, overhead crane, and industrial floor scrubber experience is preferred (in-house training available).
  • Attentive to detail and excellent organizational skills are required, and the ability to pass a background check and drug test is necessary.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills is essential, and physical capability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, reach, and twist throughout the shift is required.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays.
Work Environment:
  • The employee works in a typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts, and overhead LED lights create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work.
  • The work environment is normally clean, with some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration, and housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
  • The noise level in the work environment is normal to manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools, and yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement.
  • The facility is non-climate-controlled, with fans provided to help keep cool in the summer and heating in the winter.
