Family Case Manager
As a Family Case Manager with the State of Indiana, you will play a critical role in protecting families and children from abuse and neglect. Your primary responsibility will be to investigate reported incidents of child abuse, neglect, or dependency, and to develop recommendations for disposition. This may involve assessing the level of risk to the child, removing the child from the family if necessary, and placing them in a protected environment. You will also be responsible for performing needs assessments to determine treatment options for families and children, and for developing case plans to assist families and children to become more self-sufficient in a safe and nurturing environment. Additionally, you will be required to testify and prepare reports for the community child protection team, and to develop informal adjustment plans with families and children to divert them from the juvenile justice system.
About the Department of Child Services:
The Department of Child Services is a state agency responsible for protecting children and families from abuse and neglect. We engage with families and children to improve lives in meaningful and significant ways. Our team is committed to providing services that focus on family support and preservation, and we are dedicated to making a real and measurable impact on the lives of Hoosiers across Indiana. As a Family Case Manager, you will be part of a team that prioritizes child safety, permanency, and collaborative partnerships with foster and adoptive families. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of families and children, and to develop your skills and expertise in social work and casework.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social work or sociology. You will also need to have experience in human services, preferably in child protection or a related field. You will need to be able to investigate and interview alleged victims and perpetrators of child abuse or neglect, and to formulate and monitor project guidelines or treatment plans. You will also need to be able to prepare clear, accurate reports, and to work with families of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. If you are a qualified individual with a disability and require reasonable accommodations to complete this application, please contact the Indiana State Personnel Department at [email protected]. The State of Indiana is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to recruiting, selecting, developing, and promoting employees based on individual ability and job performance. We will comply with the spirit as well as the letter of all applicable state and federal laws.
Benefits of Employment:
As a Family Case Manager with the State of Indiana, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan and paid time off. You will also have access to education reimbursement programs, group life insurance, and a referral bonus program. Additionally, you will be part of a team that is committed to work-life balance and is dedicated to supporting employees in their career development. We encourage you to apply for this role if you feel you have the skills and experience necessary to succeed as a Family Case Manager with the State of Indiana.
