About the Role
The Vice President of Strategic Partnerships will be an integral member of the leadership team, focusing on enhancing revenue growth through effective partnerships within the Thomson Reuters Legal Professionals segment.

This position entails crafting and implementing a comprehensive strategy to promote the adoption of our legal content and technology solutions in the Legal Professionals market.

The successful candidate will be adept at identifying, negotiating, and managing relationships with essential partners, including law firms, legal associations, technology providers, and other strategic collaborators.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

Formulate and execute a robust strategy for partnerships and alliances that aligns with the overarching business objectives and vision of the Legal Professionals segment.

Identify and prioritize potential partners and opportunities, including technology vendors, consulting firms, and legal associations.


Relationship Development:
Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
Serve as the primary liaison for all partnership-related activities, managing daily interactions with partners.

Business Growth:

Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify and leverage partnership opportunities that drive revenue and market expansion.

Manage a pipeline of potential partners, conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

Develop joint marketing and sales initiatives with partners to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.


Negotiation and Agreements:
Lead negotiations and finalize partnership agreements, ensuring terms are mutually beneficial and aligned with company objectives.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of partnerships from initial outreach to execution of agreements, launch, and ongoing governance to ensure compliance.


Performance Evaluation:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of partnership initiatives, including rules of engagement and success metrics.

Monitor and analyze partnership performance, providing regular insights and reports to the executive team.


Collaboration and Leadership:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, legal, and customer success, to ensure seamless integration and execution of partnership initiatives.

Provide leadership and mentorship to the partnerships team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.


About You
You would be a suitable candidate for the role of Vice President of Strategic Partnerships if you possess the following:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Law, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
15+ years of experience in partnerships, alliances, business development, or related roles, ideally within legal, professional services, or technology sectors.
10+ years of leadership experience, including engagement at the executive level.
Strong customer-facing skills.
Proven ability to build and scale successful partner programs that drive revenue growth.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to execute initiatives independently.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
Exceptional negotiation skills and experience structuring complex partnership agreements.

Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and expand strategic partnership opportunities, effectively managing internal stakeholders to drive change.

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and achieving goals, ensuring alignment and support for initiatives.

Exceptional relationship management, communication, and executive presence.

Expertise in SaaS business models, sales processes, and legal technology solutions, along with strong digital literacy.

Demonstrated global leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.

Thorough knowledge of market trends and customer needs, with strong networking capabilities in the industry.

Skilled in conflict resolution and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes.

Familiarity with partnership management tools, such as partnership relationship management (PRM) software.

Resourceful and highly organized self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, dynamic, and collaborative environment.

Willingness to travel as needed.


Preferred Experience:
JD or experience in the legal industry is strongly preferred.
Strong network and relationships within the legal industry, including law firms and legal organizations.
Experience with legal technology or software companies, particularly those serving law firms and the legal sector.
