As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in dispensing medications, data entry, insurance billing, and labeling and packaging for pharmacist verification.

You will also assist pharmacists in providing timely, efficient, cost-effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Filling patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling and packaging for pharmacist verification.
  • Assisting pharmacists in providing timely, efficient, cost-effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Making medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer system.
  • Ensuring extra medication is returned to stock.
  • Reordering medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Answering telephone and greeting personnel in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Providing necessary information regarding patient drug orders.
  • Referring problems and drug information inquiries to pharmacists as required.
  • Orienting and training new pharmacy personnel.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required.
