Nemours Children's Health Formula/Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Formula/Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the medical team with formula orders, substitutions, discharge, and special needs to ensure timely patient feeding.
  • Maintain sterile technique during formula and breast milk preparation.
  • Prepare and deliver all infant formulas and breast milk as ordered.
  • Inventories and maintains sufficient infant feeding room stock.
  • Meet federal, state, and local health and sanitation requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in HIPAA and OSHA/Safety Regulations.
  • Adhere to the Nemours Standard of Behavior.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for accurate quantities of expressed human milk and fortifiers.
  • Maintain daily inventory of expressed human milk and needed supplies.
  • Clean and sanitize work area and equipment using approved technique and clean agent.
  • May cross train for coverage between Pharmacy and Nutrition Department.
  • Transcribe feeding order information to prepared feeding labels.
  • Follow established processes for quality assurance monitors.
Requirements:
  • HS Diploma; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician or Bachelor in nutrition or dietetics or Dietetic Technician, registered.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience as a Milk Technician or Pharmacy Technician required.
  • Certification Pharmacy Technician (CphT) or Dietetic Technician, registered (DTR).
