Job Description Summary

The Turbine Controls Field Service Engineer will play a key role in providing exceptional service to our customers across the USA and Canada. As a Regional Service Team member, you will be responsible for managing all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' sites. This includes contributing to, maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing sold or existing products, as well as managing maintenance facilities and field services engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of retrofit projects, including installation, power up, and commissioning of turbine control solutions, HMI upgrades, and TIL implementation.
  • Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues, addressing customer service requests and leading customer issue resolution during warranty and post-warranty periods.
  • Be responsible for pre-planning, site scheduling, field engineering, commissioning, control system startup, and project handover to customers.
  • Work closely with project managers, customers, and supplier representatives to ensure financial performance, quality project installation, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to customer call-out services requests.
  • Timely completion of service time sheets, trip reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements, including pre-mobilization and de-mobilization meetings and procedures.
  • Work closely with other functions to identify and register change order opportunities, as well as review proposals for new opportunities, formulate, and present GE solutions to customers.
  • Interface with GE Power Services, GE Industrial, and other GE Businesses.
  • Significant travel and overtime will be expected, up to 50%.
  • Other duties as required, including participation in FAT, development of overall controls strategy for projects, design of hardware and software configuration packages, and release of system design to manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Automation or Electronic Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Must have experience in one or more of the following: Turbine control solutions (MarkVIe, MarkVI, MarkV), HMI upgrades, and TIL implementation.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial plant automation, DCS, PLC, and/or similar industry sectors.
  • Previous industrial field service experience.
  • Controls experience to equipment that functions as a prime mover.
  • Electronics and/or mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Computer skills, familiarity with MS Office, TCP/IP configuration.
  • Ability to learn other software tool applications to support HMI and application changes (Cimplicity, Intellution, Toolbox, GAP, etc.).
Eligibility Requirements
  • Travel 70%, as required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Must reside in the US. US Remote position.
Desired Characteristics
  • Prior mechanical/maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to set and meet aggressive goals and targets.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems at all levels, from field devices to control system, and networking.
  • Must be able to generate immediate credibility with customers, suppliers, GE project management/engineering communities.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, geographically dispersed team environment is required.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Customer-focused skills, demonstrated by experience in field services, customer services or project management, are essential.
Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $62,400 - $93,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 5% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
